We have an active and supportive parents’ association, the Friends of Temple Sowerby School (FOTSS), which organises a range of events each year to raise funds for the school. Examples of these fundraising events include:
- summer barbecue
- auction of promises
- village hall ceilidh
- bingo nights
- Macmillan Coffee Morning
- refreshments at the Kwik Cricket tournament
- helping with the annual Milburn duck race
- school discos
- supporting our local food bank through our reverse advent calendar
These activities help to raise funds for the benefit of the children at Temple Sowerby CE Primary School. For example, we recently donated £2,000 towards the purchase of new Chromebook computers and contributed to the development of a new school garden. Our next event will be an auction of promises to be held in spring 2020. If you know anyone who could contribute to this, please get in touch.
The FOTSS plays an active part in school life and the school greatly appreciates the commitment of the volunteers. If you would like to get involved, please come along to our termly meetings – all are welcome! Drop into the school office to find out when the next one is.
Our latest fundraising event will be an Auction of Promises to be held at the Village Hall on Friday 24th April at 6.00pm. Please come along and support this event. There will be a licensed bar and all monies raised will be used to buy new resources to support the school. More details of the promises will be sent out nearer the time.
