Temple Sowerby is Cumbria’s top school for reading!
We’re very proud of our year 6 pupils who excelled in the 2018 SATs tests. The school achieved the highest score in Cumbria for reading, with results in other subjects not far behind.
Reading has a high profile throughout our school; we won the recent Cumbria Libraries ‘Summer Reading Challenge’ and we’re delighted that this is reflected in our latest SATs reading score of 112.8. We’d like to thank all the parents and volunteer helpers who support our pupils’ reading, both at home and in school.
Our Key Stage 2 results for 2018 were as follows:
|% children who achieved the expected standard||80||80||80||80|
|% children who achieved a high level of attainment||60||60||40||40|
|Average scaled score||112.8||111.3||n/a||108.2|

“We’re thrilled that our pupils are performing so highly”, explains Chris Starr, the Chair of Governors. “The dedication of our excellent teaching team is reflected in these results. We’d like to congratulate all the pupils on their brilliant performance and wish them every success in achieving their full potential in the next stage of their education.”
